Decent guide

I'm a professional fire performer with seven year's experience under my belt. This book is still on my library shelf after all these years. The tricks featured are pretty mundane and travel more towards the "magician" side of fire performing. However, the safety information is invaluable. Those just getting interested in the art will be pleased by the clear pictures demonstrating each step.

I bought this book after watching Brian Brushwood's youtube videos about fire eating. I was definitely impressed with this book, since it perfectly expanded those youtube videos putting a huge emphasis on safety. I have since learned how to eat fire properly, and can do plenty of very impressive fire tricks using this book as an instruction. I highly suggest that if you are wanting to try this, you read this book, AND watch his "Scam School" youtube videos about fire eating, since only a video with his instruction can truly show you the movements you need to make to properly eat fire.

By far this is the best fire eating book out there. It goes over and explains different types of fires and what extinguishers you need to use, safety tips, health warnings, how to make torches, shows and explains many fire eating tricks with illustrations and tips, and much more. This book goes over every aspect of fire eating. I am very impressed.

punch someone.
Trent is a hot wolf shifter that Milly Taiden writes so well. I love her shifters and Trent
is hot enough for readers heading for ice cold showers and tons of ice cream. The love scenes between Erica and Trent will have readers reaching for their favorite battery operated device or jumping their partners.

Love, romance, hot sex, murder mystery and friendship

This has to be my favorite book by Milly Taiden, hands down.

It's a story of love, romance, hot sex, murder, mystery and friendship. It has everything!

Trent is one hot shifter, out to do anything to protect his mate, even if she dosen't know she is his mate yet. Ericka fights her constant attraction to Trent, who she says is a womanizer.

Together they make sparks fly, with their sexual tension and their witty banter.

They are surrounded by a great team, their leader Brock. The mysterious Brock who watches out for Ericka and tries to keep her safe from herself, and others. Tony Ramirez, another hot shifter more laid back and very protective of his team mates. Jane the hot computer tech. She's a bit of a loner, incredibly intelligent and not afraid to stand up for herself. Together they make an unbeatable team!

The murder mystery was intersting and kept me guessing on who the killer way. Thought I had it figured out, then second guessed myself, then went back to and guessed again. Gotta love a story that makes you think and second and third guess yourself.

Overall great story, great characters and a definite must read!

Very sexy, great suspense, and probably Milly's longest book yet!

There's a serial killer on the lose, and the victims keep piling up. Who better to go on the hunt than the brave men and women of the Federal Paranormal Unit? Each member is "other" and they all have special abilities that aid in solving various crimes. The unit is a small, tight knit group. Join Trent and Erica as they try to bring the murderer to justice while trying not to give in to their sizzling attraction.

As usual with all Milly Taiden characters, the heroines are tough on the outside with a sensitive side they like to keep hidden. The heroes are all alpha males, gorgeous, protective, and undeterred when it comes to winning their women over. Erica doesn't want to be attracted to Trent, not just because of his reputation as a ladies man, but she can't afford to let him get too close lest he figure out what her ability is. But their newest case has them working in close proximity, as partners, and the pull is sometimes just too strong to resist.

Trent has known that Erica was the woman for him since the first time he laid eyes on her. Unfortunately she keeps pushing him away, and he wants her to come to him when she's ready to admit that she wants him. With their new work partnership, he gets his first glimpses of her ability in action, and it worries him to death. He wants to protect her, but doesn't know how.

The main characters weren't lacking in development. I loved the sexual tension that was building between Trent and Erica from the first page. Between bouts of flirting and snarky conversations, I also enjoyed the brief glimpses of their vulnerable sides as well. Their chemistry was undeniably ever present. The love scenes were hot, as is typical for Milly Taiden. Fans won't be disappointed, and let's face it, when the author writes a shifter love scene, you know there will be biting involved. Trent was so hot in those moments; I began picturing our potential offspring.

This story was very sexy, it had great suspense, and it was probably Milly's longest book yet! I can not wait for the second book because I want more of the awesome camaraderie, the jokes, the snark, the loving, all of it!

Enjoyable reading

I was a crewdog, too (D, G, and H), and knew several of the people who were mentioned or wrote articles. However, in every one of these books there are NUMEROUS spelling, punctuation, and grammar errors that I find very annoying. Since I had a minor in English in college, I am probably more aware of them than the average reader. Someone needs to proof read and edit these books before they are published. Maybe a new revision is in order. But don't let that deter anyone from reading them. The stories are all well worth reading, even for someone who never flew the BUFF.

About the Author
Joseph Walsh received his MSW and his Ph.D. from Ohio State University. He is Associate Professor of Social Work at Virginia Commonwealth University and teaches courses in generalist practice, clinical practice, research, and mental and emotional disorders. He has been a direct services practitioner in the field of mental health since 1974, first in a psychiatric hospital and later in community mental health center settings. Joe has provided services to older adult and general outpatient populations, but he specializes in services to people with serious mental illness and their families. He is the author of two other Brooks/Cole texts, CLINICAL CASE MANAGEMENT WITH PERSONS HAVING MENTAL ILLNESS and THEORIES FOR DIRECT SOCIAL WORK PRACTICE.

Despite the fact that there actually exists a large number of pornographic and romantic texts about male homosexuality consumed and produced by American women since the 1970s, the "abnormality" of those female cross-voyeurs is constantly underlined in U.S. popular and academic culture. As the astonished, public reactions in the face of a largely female (heterosexual) audience of "Brokeback Mountain" (2005) and "Queer as Folk" (2000-2005) have shown, a woman's erotic/romantic interest in male homosexuality is definitely not as accepted as its male counterpart (men consuming lesbian porn). In the academic publications on female cross-voyeurs, the application of double standards with regard to male/female cross-voyeurism is even more obvious. As Karen Hellekson and Kristina Busse note in their "Introduction" to "Fan Fiction and Fan Communities in the Internet" (2006), slash fiction - fan fiction about male homosexual relationships mainly produced and consumed by women - has stood in the center of fan fiction studies so far, despite being merely a subgenre of it. The reason for this seems to be an urge to explain the underlying motivations for the fascination of women with m/m romance or pornography within the academic discourse - a trend which differs completely from the extremely under-theorized complex of men interested in "lesbians." It is this obvious influence of conventional gender stereotypes on the perception of these phenomena that provokes me to examine the way in which the works of female cross-voyeurism and their consumers/producers are conceptualized in the U.S. scholarly accounts. In many ways, this thesis explores unknown territories and respectively tries to take a closer look at academic problems that have not been adequately addressed yet.
