Precise and passionate historical writing at its finest

This is an ideal read for anyone with an interest in World War II and its aftermath. Rivera performs the gritty, yet essential work of a seasoned historian to frame Truman and his monumental decision(s) in the pantheon of historical figures who have not been properly appreciated. History is the constant process of revision in the present and Rivera's text reminds us of this essential fact. The writing is clear, clean, and informative. There are countless ways to pass away Sunday afternoon; you will be best served by spending one with this book.

An important part of America's history!

This was an easy to read book. The author gave enough,detail about President Truman and all the relevant parties that the reader knows why they're important but does not inundate the reader with unnecessary detail.The language is quite accessible and unpretentious. I highly recommend it. As part of the baby boomer generation, I found this part of our history amazing! Most probably, if it was not for Truman's decision, there would not be the America we have today! I also admire my dad, which wrote this book and is now officially a Late Bloomer! Go Dad!

Worthwhile read for President Truman fans

Great historical and worthwhile read! Rivera brings this momentous decision to life. President Truman
was courageous in the face of competing inputs and choices and prepared the world for peace following a horrific war.
I especially liked the background on Japanese culture and the explanation on deification of the Emperor as it had a huge
impact on their conduct of war. Rivera almost seemed to prepare a legal brief supporting the greatness of President Truman.

Well researched solutions

First of all, congratulations to Bertrand for having had the courage to write this book and to let others benefit from it. A Big Thank You to him.

This book has become my bedside book. I regularly re-read a paragraph because it’s important if one wants to fully benefit from it and not forget anything. I can attest to the fact that everything he writes about � polyposis � is true but I didn't know everything, and this book has given me valuable advice and reassured me about my ideas.

The sulfite problem that I’m referring to is very important, I know. If you are committed to living by Bertrand’s advice, YOU SHOULD PERSEVERE and not give up when it’s going well because every time you start again, you begin at zero. You need time to get better but relapsing can happen quickly and Bertrand is adamant about this.

Champagne and wine whenever you want it and great food over the weekend is enough to ruin everything.

I should have read this book before.. but at least now I know.

Well written. I've suffered from this condition for years and like the author had polyps removed and really don't want to repeat the process. What he says makes a lot of sense. I'm encouraged ordering a few of the things that the author recommends (cheaper than surgery) since trying just 2 of the simple things he suggested helped.

From her past-life regression work, Dolores shares the session stories with a common thread of our extraterrestrial origins. While its up to the reader to decide what to believe, I have known for some time that we are from the stars, and so much more.

What I found fascinating in these session stories is the origin of the human being. Certainly, it was not what we have been brainwashed to believe, through religion and the education system. Prepare to have your mind expanded more, as you read about life forms in other dimensions, on other planets and Earth, both past and future possibility. I invite you to embrace that what you will read is inspirational and brings it home to each of us is responsible for our thoughts and creations.

Although this book was published in the 90s and it holds the session stories from the 80s, and it is in of itself, timely and timeless. The underlying message of unconditional love and understanding holds true today. We no longer can live a life refusing to open our minds and hearts to our star sisters and star brothers. That time of ignorance is gone. Our Earth is depending upon our awakening and awareness of our multi-dimensional self, so that we, as sovereign beings of light and love, can create a world of peace. The material is interesting but the Kindle version is so full of typographic mistakes that it's beyond irritating. It quite ruins the enjoyment I usually feel when reading Dolores Cannon's books. That's why I only gave it three stars.

At Hoolux, Joe leads the development of an Android computer vision-based advertising platform for the medical industry. Great resource if you are a Python user that wants to start learning computer vision concepts and implementation

This book is a great introduction to both computer vision in general, and OpenCV in Python in particular, but even people familiar with computer vision methods will find it useful to learn how to implement them in the Python ecosystem or how to optimize function parameters. An introductory to intermediate command of Python is assumed. The author's present the different concepts within the context of developing an application, and while the book doesn't follow the cookbook format, by the end you will still have a group of very useful scripts that can easily be applied to other projects. The presentation of the programming scripts is detailed and easy to follow. The authors have taken great care to build the complexity of the scripts slowly and without gaps in the sequencing. The use of each script is very well illustrated with images along the book. My only complaint is that the book is still based on Python 2.7, but the code doesn't seem to require many modifications to run in Python 3

Learning OpenCV 3 Computer Vision with Python - Second Edition

I have done programming in python and was interested in learning OpenCV. This book did great job in introducing the basic computer Vision programming using python. OpenCV 3 is a computer vision library that is used for a variety of image and video processing operations. Some advance features such as face recognition or object tracking, are easily achievable with OpenCV 3.

Overall, I found the book was easy to follow and it even included code examples from the book.

The book attempts to provide an introduction to computer vision with opencv. However, the code is incomplete, and the book is hard to follow. I would not recommend this book for beginners who try to learn opencv with python.

The history of motor sport and especially Formula 1 is littered with cars that were designed with great enthusiasm but never quite made the grade. Some actually arrived on the grid while some others never left the workshop. This book is about cars that were built for the 3-litre formula that ended in 2005 but never made a mark for themselves or achieved victory. Frankly, I was surprised at the major players involved and honestly expected to read about cars built by unknowns. However, there were cars from Toyota, Honda, McLaren and Lola that are now sadly parked away gathering dust, overtaken by technology or simply found lacking. Other manufacturers include Dome from Japan, the French DAMs team and the Premier F1 car designed by English constructor Reynard.

The historical detail author Collins provides is very extensive and the photos used, both of the cars when new and today, make this an engaging book. Anyone who is genuinely interested in Formula 1 will want to read this work, as they know that the sport is made up of more than just the cars driven by those on the podium.

If a Formula 1 car was built and raced, chances are it is documented in detail in some book or website. Technical specifications, designers, the drivers who raced it, complete qualifying and race records. Everything you wanted to know about that car can be found somewhere. But, what about those Grand Prix cars that were built but never raced? They fall through the historical record keeping cracks. Sam Collins saves some of those cars from obscurity in his Unraced ... Formula One's Lost Cars.If you enjoy a tale, sometimes a mysterious one, about success and failure, this book is for you. Collins delves into the background of six aborted designs: DAMS GD-01, Dome F105, Lola, Honda RC2x, Toyota TF101, and McLaren MP4/18. It also talks about the Premier 1 Grand Prix prototype, the marketing exercise of forming a Grand Prix series linked with top soccer clubs, a concept that appears to have been resurrected. He concludes with a chapter on interim cars, test beds that were never made to race. It's a concise book of just over 100 pages, with many photos.I found it an interesting read that gave proper credit to those cars and efforts that at least deserved some mention within the history of Grand Prix design. It makes me wonder about any other unraced cars from different eras of F1. Maybe Sam Collins can fill us in on those someday.�

About the Author
Sam Collins has been involved with motor sport at all levels since he was a teenager, starting in Formula One on work experience with Williams in 1997, through to club racing. Currently he is Deputy Editor of the worlds leading journal of motor sport technology Racecar Engineering, a position that gives him unique access to the inner workings of international motor sport. Sam has always been more interested in cars than drivers and recently authored the best selling Autodrome, the lost race circuits of Europe.� He lives in Beckenham, Kent, London.

This book may be the best written , most interesting book in the world but it is unreadable on a kindle . The text is tiny and cant be made larger - a terrible shame as it looks like a great subject
