About the Author
Jon Shepard has a Ph.D. from Michigan State University. Since 1989, he has been a professor of sociology at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute where he is currently department head of the Department of Management. He has received several teaching awards, including the University Great Teacher Award at the University of Kentucky, where he received his Master's Degree and taught from 1968 to 1989. In addition to introductory sociology, business ethics is another of his current teaching and research interests.

I bought this book for an online class that I took last semester. The book was in good condition. It was well organized and had detailed information.

this book is interesting, i love a book that can hold you attention Jon M.Shepard has done that with this book. with up to date information. it really give you a look at other worlds a round you. oh yes and it is cheaper at amazon.

Much too damaged for a "good" quality rating.

It was very cheap, so I shouldn't complain, but the quality just was not "good" quality. The cover was completely bent and warped, and most of the pages had water damage. Can it still be used? Yes. Should I be thankful I got a textbook for less than $10? Yes. But when I see a product that is in "good" shape I don't expect 90% of the pages to have water damage. I have purchased books that were labeled as "acceptable" in better conditions that this.
