Cover was dirty and sticky, the packaging and transportation must have been rough because the hardcover is dented at the corners and around the edges. There is a scratch in the scratch off code page. The scratch is only in the middle, so I think the code is usable.

The rationale for my rating is as follows: (1) The text is somewhat difficult to follow (i.e., chapter topics do not flow well in the body of the text; one has to constantly jump around), particularly when trying to find answers to study questions and (2) The images are both numerous and well done and, thus, very beneficial. If the text would have been as well balanced as the images, I would have rated it higher. As such, if you are looking for less textual flow, but more images (i.e., if you are more of a visual oriented learner), then this is a good textbook to have.
